Commenting on the acquisition, Jhuma Nag, proprietor, Ved Printers said, “The economical and approachable price of the machine and click charges, as well as good experience with Konica Minolta and Monotech, were the main reasons to opt the printing press.”

The company was established in 2004 by Nag, who started her printing life as a jobber. Gradually, she invested in a screen printing facility followed by an installation of  Konica Minolta LD6500.

With a one-month-old KM 8000 at the unit, Ved has printed more than 50,000 A3 colour sheets.

In an industry with a dearth of woman printers, Nag who had her stint with the advertising and sales management, confessed that she had never thought that she will be a printer one day. “I worked in an advertising agency, one day one of my clients suggested that I should start a venture of my own. And the idea stuck to my mind.  Starting on a low foot, I started my own work sans any printing setup. Gradually I added screen printing and then digital printing set-ups. Today, Ved is equipped with complete digital printing solution with two digital printing presses, designing team and complete post-press facility,” she said.

The company operates ten hours a day with eight staff members in a rented premise. “Being an entrepreneur, I always feel good and I keep encouraging girls in our office to work hard and be independent,” she added.

Quoting the digital printing cluster at Nehru Place as the biggest competition to her business she said, “In Delhi NCR the main competition comes from Nehru Place. Customers always compare prices with Nehru Place. It is the biggest challenge for printers like us to meet that price range.” She also shared that Ved is working on a plan to include offset printing in its portfolio.
