The firm has invested Rs 2-crore into a Lasercomb MTL 1521 DC 020 laser machine which is equipped with a Prezitec-cutting head. The heads are  suitable for cutting dies as well as mild and stainless steel.

Son N Naykpura offers die-making services to printers, print finishers and corrugated packaging companies from states like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Haryana and union territories like Daman and Silvassa.

Biren Naykpura, managing director of the firm, takes pride on being able to offer the very latest technologies to his clients, many of whom were present during an event held to celebrated the installation of the machine.

He said: "As one of the major  players in the die-making sector, it was necessary to strengthen the confidence of our clients in our ability, and faith in us to bring them sophisticated manufacturing process and tooling to produce precision print products."

Besides the new laser machine, the firm is equipped with an auto bender from Serviform and a CNC Router from Pacer, which produced about 40 jobs in a 12 hour shift. With the rise in demand, it became increasingly difficult to keep up with production volumes using the present tools.

The MTL 1521 with a speed of up to 20 m/min and an accuracy of +/-0.02mm (repetitive) and +/-0.04/1000mm (position) had reduced the shift hour to four. "Today, we are able to handle a variety of work configuration and are in a position where we can handle higher volume of work," said Naykpura.

"Besides, we work with clients, where nothing is ordinary," he added. "Our customers demand extremely high quality. We work as close as we can etch."
