The session create a print-buyer forum which included photographers, designers, print firms and publishers. The aim was to improve existing products and develop innovative new solutions for the print industry.

Anuj Agarwal of A R Publisher who attended the forum is an early adopter of the system and produces innovative school books and textbooks. Agarwal whose genes can be traced to the erstwhile Conway Printers, showed samples of the personalised, short run work.

Hemanshu Desai, of Venus Infotech, a Think Print Company who said: "We're trying to create awareness about the procedures and checks that are essential for a easy flow of the work in a pre-press environment.

It will be a open house forum where people will come with the issues that they face and we will try to help them address the issues. In a way it will be a training environment. Having so many innovative technologies in one place in our demo centre is an excellent opportunity to make significant advances in colour management and digital print quality.

We welcome the involvement of everyone in the print value chain, as it means the discussions will be more comprehensive and the results more beneficial to a wider range of companies."

Desai added: "With the feedback we got, we are carrying this further and the next sessions will transpire in Hyderabad followed by Chennai."
