Sobana Offset Printers, as the name suggests started as an offset printing unit in 1963. In 2003, the company ventured into digital colour printing with the installation of Xerox DC 2060, DC 6060 and DC 5000.

SP Janarthan, proprietor, Sobana Offset Printers said: “We have been in the digital printing business for almost a decade now and offer the best in class technology to cater to our customer’s requirements. The Xerox 1000 Press with its fifth colour dry ink toner delivers good image quality at 2400x2400 dpi. Moreover, the fifth print station for clear dry ink expands our creative capabilities and impacts prints with addition of clear effects. We also expect that it will further help us improve our volumes and we are confident of catering to 200+ customers every day.”

Janarthan is believer of the concept that offset and digital complement each other. Supporting his thought, he said: “Offset has always been going upwards but digital has boosted the quantity of the offset machines. The Color 1000 caters very well to personalised jobs, and we are confident that this press will help us grow our business revenue and further give an impetus to our printing capabilities.”

Pankaj Kalra, head, graphic communications business, Xerox India, said: “Xerox has invested in partnering with the printing fraternity since a long time, and close interaction with our customers like Sobana Offset Printers provides us with a unique opportunity to offer real business solutions to their real business challenges. True productivity of 6,000 impressions per hour coupled with industry’s best print resolution of 2400 dpi, the Xerox Color 1000 press helps the printer service providers in responding quickly to short run on-demand high quality print needs for all customer types.”

Apart from the Xerox presses, Sobana’s printing facility houses a Komori Lithrone LS40, Komori Spica 429, Robo cutters, and a battery of creasing, lamination, binding machines. The printer currently caters to the commercial printing and business collateral jobs in and around Sultanpet. With the new press he plans to cater better to the increasing printing jobs of visiting cards, wedding cards, pamphlets, flyers, posters, and other allied jobs.
