Deepak Gupta, owner of Shree Lamipack, said, “We are into label printing since the last three decades and we realised that the time has come to enter into the product labels segment. We found the Ecosmart technology to be a value for money investment."

Presently, the company is into self-adhesive tapes and labels, die-cut labels, barcode printing and scanning, thermal ribbon and software product/identification labels. “We want to expand step-by-step. First, we will run the Ecosmart and soon will expand with European printing presses,” Gupta added.

The newly installed Ecosmart is equipped with turn bar, delam-relam, cold foil and lamination.

A major chunk of Shree Lamipack’s business comes from variable information labels, and the company converts around 2,00,000 sq/m labels per month. The existing set up at Shree Lamipack is equipped with label printing presses from Focus, Edale, Jandu, Hikari, Seiki, Iwasaki and Onda. Most of the printing presses have mono printing facility and a few are capable of two or three colour printing.

“The time for plain labels is over. Now, you have to be a solution provider to survive in the industry. We are on the way to be one. In this wake, we will invest in more equipment soon.”

Divya Gupta, the second generation of the family owned business helps Gupta in his day-to-day business. An active member of LMAI, ASPA and AIDC, Gupta believes that demand for labels will grow as more and more international brands come in to India.

The label production facility of Shree Lamipack operates in two shifts of eight hours each in its 24,000 sq/ft factory area and employs 14 people.
