Running its recently installed third brand new RMGT press, the 7 Series RMGT 760 five-colour press live, the open house provided over 60 print CEOs from the Surat, Vadodara and Ahmedabad a chance to test the efficiency of the press.

Asgar Sanchawala, managing director at Progressive, said, “We showcased the 760 press’ efficient plate changing, paper-size presetting and cleaning, which results in fast turnaround.”

During the press demonstration, Progressive’s operation team matched the prints with the actual fabric with which the garment was produced.

Vinay Kaushal, director at Provin Technos, said, “The audience was amazed at the quality of the prints. This deliverance of clear and accurate colouration is made possible by the press’ Program Inking features which speed up colour tone adjustments.”

Besides the RMGT 720, Progressive has a Ryobi 920 and RMGT 920, all brand new presses installed in the last two years, replacing all the pre-owned presses at the plant. “There are two major reasons why we replaced all the old presses with new ones – quick delivery and consistency of quality,” said Sanchawala. “We had been running secondhand machines all through, and somewhere down the line, we used to be hampered by consistency in print quality. After we installed the first Ryobi, we were convinced that with a new machine, print quality is assured.”

Provin’s Kaushal, for whom Surat city in Gujarat has been a key market said, Progressive is perhaps the only leading commercial print company in India who has installed three new presses in such a short time. “We have installed 11 RMGT presses in this city in the last two-and-a-half years. By the end of the year, we hope to close with 15 presses.”

Overall, Provin has an installation base of 46 Ryobi and RMGT in India, with two more RMGT presses shipped to India.
