Regal shrugs-off initial doubts, installs a Gallus EM 280 press

"We tested the machines in 2007 at Label Expo in Brussels and then again in 2008 at the India Label Expo before deciding on the investment. Job queues are a thing of the past," said Bajaj.

Established in 1994, Regal specialised in printing of tin show boards, metal decorative sheets for metal containers. The company entered into self-adhesive label printing in 2003 with an Orthotech single six-colour printing machine. The company now has four printing lines capable of producing 10,000sqmts of printed labels per day.

Bajaj cited growing demand and need for fast turnaround times as well as flexibility, as the other key drivers for its decision to invest in the new Gallus. "The machine has given us the confidence to deliver quality jobs - and adhere to tight deadlines."

The Gallus EM 280 is an eight-colour press capable of printing on both sides of the label and is equipped with an inline slitting, die-cutting, hot and cold foiling and laminating facility.

According to Chawala, Regal has notched a growth of 15-20% and the new machine has helped scale up capacity.

"We believe our customers will benefit from our on-demand capabilities. It also gives opportunity for us in the other booming industrial segments " said Chawala.

The ISO 9001-2000 certified firm has a  staff of 40 on its roster.
