Printplus picks up two Welbound machines

Printplus in Bhiwandi, a commercial and publishing print specialist has very recently bought in two new machines from Welbound Worldwide, so as to boost their book printing production. The order includes a Nordson Altapail 20 litre melter and a Welbound inline perfect binding machine. Both these machines were picked up at the recently concluded Printpack 2015 show.

Printplus which churns out around 50,000 books in a day, where having bottlenecks in the binding process to bind books on time. "The way to solve this was to opt for an other perfect binding system and Welbound was the only choice since Printplus and Welbound had developed good synergy," said Dinesh Gajria, managing director, Printplus.Printplus has six to seven machines from Welbound. The machine is yet to be installed. 

They are the first ones in India to install the Welbound inline binding machine.

Printplus' maximum book production involves using PUR. The 20-litre melter solves Printplus' PUR problems. "The PUR pellets melter on our PUR machine does not suffice for the hefty amount of jobs that we do here. The two-litre tank perishes in less than 15 minutes," said Gajria. "So the obvious reason was to go for the 20-litre solution," he added.
 
Printplus shifted its base from Shah and Nahar in Lower Parel to Bhiwandi five years ago. This 60,000 sq/ft plant in Bhiwandi is filled with the state-of the art machineries. This new space has led Printplus to clock a 50% increase in turnover.   
 
The company converts 200 tonnes of paper in a month with a figure of approximately 2000 plate usage in a month.
