Top print firms recognise the importance of PrintWeek India Awards

Pragati Offset bagged the PrintWeek India Printing Company of the Year for 2013; even as the fifth edition of the Awards threw up a whole host of first time Award winners. This included: Trigon, Perfect Print & Pack, Anandabazar Patrika, Buzz IMC, Group FMG, Quenby Transfers, New Jack Printing Press and Prodon.

Some of the top winners sent in their feedback about the Awards night, which saw a formal sit-down event attended by 350 print delegates at the Grand Hyatt (Mumbai) on 2 October 2013, PrintWeek India celebrated India’s print prowess while paying rich tribute to the ‘Father of the Nation’ on his 144th birth anniversary.
 

Newspaper Printer of the Year 2013-Anandabazar Patrika

Mahatma Gandhi's great grandson Dr Anand Gokani, an endocrinologist and a diabetologist, was the chief guest for the night. While addressing the gathering Dr Gokani said, “Print played an integral role in Gandhiji’s attempt to mobilise the masses against British oppression and it has to play a similar role if India needs to rid itself of the evil that engulf our country today.”

113 print firms and 288 print entries were part of the Awards in 2013. They were scrutinised by a 40-member jury. A total of 80 print firms were shortlisted for 19 Quality and six Performance categories.
