Organised by the Plastindia Foundation, the apex body for plastics in India and the federation of the significant plastics industry bodies from the Indian sub-continent, the exhibition, which is held every three years, will sport the tagline ‘expanding horizons’ this year, and will showcase the latest in technology, innovation, processes, products, responsible plastics management, recycling and a whole host of related aspects of plastics.

With consumption of plastics estimated at 14 million MT by 2015, India is a potential market for plastics. India’s considerable economic growth and progress in the field of agriculture, packaging, telecommunication, infrastructure and automobile industry offers tremendous growth opportunity for plastics. Outlining this growth, this year, exhibition promises to bring together about 150,000 business visitors and 2000 top class exhibitors from across 40 nations, at a showcase extending across 125,000 sq/mt.

According to Subhash Kadakia, president, Plastindia Foundation, apart from the main exhibition, there will be a stunning bouquet of associated offerings that make Plastindia exhibitions a ‘must not miss’ affair for global plastics honchos. “We are in the final stages of preparation for Plastindia 2015 exhibition at Gandhinagar. The new arena that is being created will showcase new facilities for the country, with the help of the Gujarat government,” Kadakia added.

Concurrent to the event, an international conference, titled, ‘Gateway to Innovations,’ will be held at the Convention Centre, The Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. While the presentations and business sessions would revolve around this theme, the conference will be an ideal platform to explore the ideas, uncover the solutions and develop the opportunities. “It is a great place to meet technical experts from the industry. This also provides a unique opportunity for an excellent networking forum and a platform for technological knowledge exchange among industry professionals,” said SK Ray, chairman, Plastindia International Conference 2015.

The exhibition will also host the fourth Proplast exhibition, which will showcase the global standard capabilities of India’s plastics processing fraternity. Also being held concurrently would be the 24th ASEAN Plastics Forum, the sixth Plasticon Awards, the Wiintech Technology Transfer initiative, as well as numerous B2B meets on investment, finance, knowledge sharing, etc.
