Parksons Games & Sports enters into a joint venture with Belgium's Cartmundi Group

Parksons Games & Sports, one of India's leading playing cards manufacturers has entered into an equal partnership with card games manufacturers Cartmundi Group from Belgium.

"For its expansion in Asia, Cartamundi has found a strong and reliable partner in Parksons Games & Sports", said Chris Van Doorslaer, CEO, Cartamundi Group. "The daily management of the company remains in the hands of the Indian management," he added.

"We look to expand in the Indian subcontinent through the expansion of its product range and evolve as a world-class organisation," said Sajjan Kejriwal, the managing director at Parksons Games & Sports.

In the short term, the building of a new factory is planned. This will enable the company to grow in line with its ambitious aims for the Asian market.

Parksons Games & Sports is a company established by the Kejriwal family of Parksons Group in 1994. It has an office in Mumbai with 250 employees and a production facility in Mumbai. The product range of Parksons Games & Sports includes playing cards, promotional cards, casino cards and cards for games and it has a capacity of 36 million decks of playing cards a year. The company exports to 14 countries.

Cartamundi is a 200-year-old family-owned group headquartered in Turnhout, Belgium and had a sales turnover of 123-million Euros in 2009. The company employs 1,000 personnel worldwide. Turnhout has been a centre for the production of playing cards for centuries. Cartamundi's retail collection comprises of licensed cards, promotional card collections, casino cards, collector cards and cards for games.

The company's long-term experience and specialist knowledge enables it to continuously develop innovative playing cards and card games and further expand its range.
