The two debut making machines are Varyflex V2 offset printing press for flexible packaging and carton, and iFlex label printing machine.

The new Varyflex V2 will be available in two widths – 670mm (26-inch) and 850mm (33-inch); and sleeves designed by Omet will offer international standards for pre-press, process printing, and inking, combined with low-cost platemaking and precise colour control, claimed the company.

With the new iFlex label printing machine, Omet also claims that it will introduce a revolutionary product that ushers in a new era for narrow web printing with the first application of lasers in flexography. “The iFlex press is characterised by further breakthrough solutions that simplify the printer’s work and optimise the machine performance,” said the company statement.

In India, Omet is represented by Weldon Celloplast. There are around 12 Omet presses installed, the last installation reported at Zircon.

“The brand has gained tremendous value in the last couple of years,” said Harveer Sahni, managing director of Weldon, during an interaction at Labelexpo India 2014. “Three of the largest presses in India are Omets. Omet has worked towards reducing manual intervention and the presses give auto register in both machine direction and cross direction.”

This debut event is one of the many Omet is set to host during the Converflex 2015 show (19-23 May) in Milan, Italy.
