The challenges of printing 37 editions across eleven states of India are enormous. More than 55.7 million people read Dainik Jagran. According to the IRS Q1 2012, Dainik Jagran ranked No 1 Hindi daily with a total readership (TR) of 16,412 million.

Winning the Award for the first time, Dainik Jagran, scored in colour consistency, which according to the judges is crucial, particularly for advertising.

"The newspaper segment in India continues to be impressive, this inspite of e-newspapers, blogs and other online communications,” said one judge. With a print run of 4,15,000 copies, printed on a Manugraph CityLine 30 fitted with a Quadtech auto-registration system, Dainik Jagran produced this robust, informative and visually interesting print publication.

Krause violet CTP fired the plates using Agfa Arkitek with Harlequin RIP software. SCA and Solikamaski imported paper was put to use.

The genesis for Dainik Jagran was in the year 1942. The year when the freedom struggle of India reached its crescendo and found expression in the “Quit India movement”. Dainik Jagran was launched during this time with the vision of its founder Shri Puran Chandra Gupta, to “create a newspaper that would reflect the free voice of the people”. Besides its large readership base, Dainik Jagran has also been voted as the Most Credible Source of News in a BBC-Reuters survey.
