Narendra Ambwani is the new ASCI chairman.

The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) at its board meeting on 11 September, elected Narendra Ambwani, director, Agro Tech Foods, as chairman.

Benoy Roychowdhury, executive director, HT Media was elected vice-chairman; Shashidhar Sinha, CEO, Mediabrands India was appointed the honorary treasurer.

Other members of the new board of governors are: Hemant Bakshi (Hindustan Unilever), Arvind Sharma (ex Leo Burnett); Dilip Cherian (Perfect Relations), SK Palekar (SP Jain), Jayant Singh (GSK Consumer Healthcare), Subhash Kamath (BBH), Srinivasan Swamy (RK Swamy BBDO), 

Rajan Anandan (Google), Shantanu Khosla (P&G), Abanti Sankarnarayanan (CIABC) and I Venkat (Eenadu), Rajiv Dube (Aditya Birla Manangement Corporation).

 

McCann Worldgroup to handle Dettol projects in India

UK-headquartered Reckitt Benckiser has appointed McCann Worldgroup India to handle creative duties for Dettol in India on a project basis.

Havas WW will continue to be the agency on record on Dettol in India and globally, informed a statement from the FMCG company.

Big Bang Awards to be hosted on 19 September

The Advertising Club Bangalore has announced that this year’s edition of the Big Bang Awards will be hosted on 19 September 2014at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Bengaluru.

The event will be presented by Bangalore Mirror of The Times Group for the fifth year in a row.  The Advertising Club has received a record number of 956 entries this year.
