Navi Mumbai-based Webtech installs two Xeikon digital presses for label work

Mumbai-based label converting firm, Webtech Industries have procured two Xeikon 3030 digital label press.

Started in 1998, Webtech industries has a solid clientele in the pharmaceutical and FMCG segments.

"The setup we currently have, required strengthening with regards to carrying out short run label printing and variable data printing. We found the specification of the Xeikon 3030 as the ideal match to our requirement after scouring the market thoroughly," said Amar B Chhajed, the director of Webtech.

He added: "The FDA compliance of the Xeikon machines has a very high 'light fastness' which is critical for pharma label printing."

Speaking about the deal, S Venkatesh, general manager of Monotech said: "Xeikon digital label press is based on electrophotographic imaging technology with full rotary system, hence it can achieve its maximum speed irrespective of size of labels and coverage of colours."

"We expect majority of label converting printers in India to opt for digital solution to complement their existing flexo presses in the near future and this deal with one of the pioneers – Webtech – has opened the doors for us to reach out to the rest of the community," he concluded.

The Xeikon 3000 family consisting of three models was launched in the late 2008 and is represented by multi-brand print product distributors, Monotech Systems, Chennai.
