The spokesperson at this event was Kamal Chopra, general secretary, Offset Printers Association(OPA). The highlight of the event was to create an awareness among the students on the job opportunities that is soon going to open as a result of the revolution in printing with the invention of 3D printing technology.

Chopra said, “Real scientists are taking real cracks at a reality which was previously considered a mere fiction”. Explaining about the latest technology that is being developed Chopra said, “A Texas-based firm is developing a 3D food printer with support from NASA to design build and test a food printer that can work in space. The fully 3D printed building may take shape this year at USA”.

The demand for printing and packaging is increasing day by day. Also, there is an acute shortage of skilled and semi-skilled work force in the printing and packaging industry. Chopra added, “These innovations have opened up the gates for a profession in the printing industry in the days to come and young minds are required for the growth of the industry.”

Persuading the students to adopt printing as a career, Chopra said, “The demand of packaging printing is increasing day by day and students are guaranteed to have hundred percent placements in the field of printing and packaging with the new innovations of 3D printing and printed electronics”
