Six months after buying a Komori, GM Offset opts for another

Around six months back, Delhi-based GM Offset installed a Komori Enthrone 426, on which the company has already printed more than one crore sheets. Now, the partnership commercial printing company has invested in another Komori Enthrone 429 four-colour press, which will be installed in the next 10 days.

Govind Arora, managing partner, GM Offset, said, “We are satisfied with the performance of the existing Komori. We went for a second press because customers want quick delivery and it can only be possible on a new printing press. We have printed more than one crore sheets on the existing press in the last six months. Now, we are getting orders for bigger size jobs. That’s why we went for a bigger size machine. It is an economical press too.”

Being a double diameter press, Arora said, it requires less maintenance. Plus, a new printing press prints more than double compared to a pre-owned machine.

The company has two four-colour refurbished presses.

Govind Arora, Bhavna Agarwal and Ritesh Goel are the three partners in the company. The facility, started in January 2010, prints books, magazines and all commercial jobs.

The finishing section includes cutting machine from Polar and India-made lamination machine, and other essential equipment.

“Our own facility gives us the control on both production and quality. In the beginning we had some difficulties regarding the technology, but over time, we have learnt. Competition encourages us, so it is good always. Price is always a major issue but market for quality is growing,” said Arora.

The company prints on paper from 60gsm to 400gsm. “We have 125 customers and 100% job work with us. Most of our jobs are short-runs ranging from 1000 to 50,000 sheets,” Arora said, adding that the company is growing in double digits.
