Picfare is one of Uganda’s largest paper-product solutions provider. The company which began printing operation in 1981, diversified to producing exercise books in 1992, and then into commercial and security printing, with acquisition of flexo presses, and now expanded its printing capabilities to labels with addition of Monotech inkjet system.

George Pryde, general manager at Picfare, said, he evaluated various high-speed inkjet systems suppliers and short listed Monotech’s Jetsci due to their approach, positive attitude and the ease with which they provided information and answers throughout the product evaluation. “It’s been some time now since the  system was installed and is in production, we are delighted with the performance, after sales service and support of Monotech,” said Pryde.

The Jetsci MUV 216 installed at Picfare is an integrated with the Omet Xflex X6 flexo press and is capable of printing variable data at speeds of up to 130m/min. “The customer can now use their workflow to deliver labels with Serialization, Numbering or with codes. It’s a modular unit and can be upgraded to next levels on field any time later and if required; even add the camera inspection and verification system online,” said Neeraj Thappa, general manager for international sales at Monotech.

During the recently concluded Pamex, Monotech and Pressline have agreed to jointly develop, produce and market a high-speed digital inkjet press, which will cater to the newspaper, transactional and book printing markets worldwide.
