Currently with a turnover of Rs 10 crore, the company provides a reliable back-end support to its customers. Now, the company is gearing up to use various technological innovations for advanced solutions in printing.

An ISO 9001:2008 certified company, Monarch Graphics Institute of Print Technology (MGIPL), was founded by Pavail Jain, a print technologist from Northern Regional Institute of Printing Technology (NRIPT) Allahabad, who has more than 35 years of experience under his belt.

Monarch provides printing services in self-adhesive labels and can print on any kind of films, papers and foils, for which they use contemporary tools like spectrophotometer, barcode verifiers and rub testers.

The MGIPL umbrella now boasts of flexography, letterpress, screen and digital printing, with a newly installed Gallus ECS 340.

With the Gallus ECS 340, a granite narrow-web Flexo printing press, the company now wants to focus on quality, cost and faster delivery. With this, the company is poised for upgrading quality, said, Bhrigav Jain. “We are seeing a change in demand nowadays since many of our customers are demanding jobs with HD certified print quality on 175lpi and even 200lpi as well,” he added.

The Gallus kit is equipped with a cold foil and rotary screen. All the units are servo-controlled and capable of printing up to nine-colour jobs. “Thus, we can produce more critical jobs on the machine and as the business environment becomes challenging, we need to focus on efficiencies,” Jain added.

“For example, the chamber doctor blade systems give us flexibility to run the press with minimum quantity of inks; enabling us to do proofings with minimum inks and also assists in high-speed printing. The Granite base gives stability at the speed of 120 metres per minute. And, with chill drums as a standard feature for the press, we as a printer have a more versatile press in hand. The unique short-web path makes it the go-to machine for short runs with minimum wastages.”

Why Gallus ECS 340?
Jain pointed out to the high-end technological features of this machine. “The features give a printer the flexibility to work differently and produce critical jobs. With this, the shopfloor becomes more dynamic and enjoyable as all information becomes transparent and it bridges the communication gap between management and print technicians."

He also beamed about the support from the Gallus team, from the product development to finalising the specs, to the installation.

Monarch Graphics was established in April 2011, with a letterpress. “Gradually, we realised that we have to increase our production capacity in terms of quality and quantity to meet our production demand,” said Jain.

Along with narrow-web flexo and letterpress, they also commissioned an inkjet digital label printing presses from TechNova to meet the short-run demand, which has enabled them to offer complete design, prototype and commercialised package. “We have NO MOQ and print even one piece,” said Jain.

“Client confidentiality and business ethics have laid a foundation for Monarch to be a preferred partner for the customers as well as suppliers, which has helped in sustaining continuous growth for the past three years,” said Jain.
Jain, concluded, “Currently, we are manufacturing labels which are at par with international qualit but still not many know about Monarch.” But, he is hopeful of the future. “We are on the crest of a large competition and we need to have the courage to dream big.”
