The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis has consented to grace the occasion and hand over the prestigious award to Pai.

Pai will receive the Award for his contribution to the print industry, and driving the print business of Manipal Group to a Rs 1000-cr business, since joining the group in 2005.

From its early years as the Manipal Power Press, which was established in 1941, to the evolution into Manipal Technologies, the journey has been remarkable. Shifting the focus of the print business from being a printing press to a printing services and solutions company, which stands on a strong R&D base, is an example of how to evolve as a company. Pai has been the brain behind these strategic moves.

Manipal Technologies is a part of the formidable and diverse Manipal Group whose interests span the publishing and media sectors (including the famous Udayavani newspaper and Taranga magazine), as well as financial, healthcare and educational institutions. Manipal is also home to India’s largest private healthcare provider, and the Group owns India’s largest private university, ManipalUniversity.

“Gautham is an example of how one should lead from the front, and his passion for the print business, in a way, reflects the qualities of an aspiring leadership. He thoroughly deserves to be recognised because we believe he - and Manipal Technologies - shall march onwards,” said Anand Limaye of MMS.
