Manjushree, which has been a regular winner of these awards has taken the tally of awards to twenty four India Stars. India Star Award, organised by Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) is held every year to encourage improvements and recognise new and innovative concepts in packaging.

Manjushree’s winning entries this year included two litres PET bottle (with handle) for United Spirits, Coke contour glass, Nambisan’s PET jar for ghee and Himalaya foamer PET bottle.

Speaking about the awards, Vimal Kedia, managing director, Manjushree Technopack said "We are excited about winning four awards this year and thank IIP and the rest of the packaging fraternity for the continued support and encouragement. We look forward to continue the good work and more importantly, adding value to consumers and brands through our packaging solutions."

The two litre liquor PET Bottle for United Spirits is a breakthrough innovation in large size liquor packaging. According to Khedia, the uniqueness of the bottle lies in the external handle that aids easy dispensing and the 100% tamper proof Guala cap closure fitment, making it first of its kind packaging in the world. This unbreakable lightweight PET pack is easy to lift, easy to pour and very consumer friendly.

The PET packaging for Coke’s contour glass is truly a collectible item, reinforcing the brand’s value and delivering a premium perception. Whereas Himalaya’s PET bottles for their foamer face wash range was with a clean design, no ribs, making it easy for labelling as well as packing and giving it almost a glass like finish. “The bottle was an immediate hit among women customers owing to its aesthetics and easy portability,” said Khedia.

Manjushree designed a bell shaped PET jar for Nambisan’s ghee is a unique design. “When the rest of industry followed the standard practice of full body sleeve of the jar, Nambisans’ PET jar had a no-sleeve look thus giving way for attractive labelling opportunities.”

The India Star awards qualify Manjushree to participate in the prestigious Asia Star and World Star Awards, instituted by the World Packaging Organization (WPO). Manjushree has previously won two World Star Awards in 2008-09 for PepsiCo (Quaker Oats Jar) and the Rhodes Food Group (Multilayer Jar for cut fruits) of South Africa. Manjushree also won two World Star Awards, under the food packaging category, for designing, the  ‘Kissan Squeezo’ from the Unilever stable and Cadbury – Kraft’s Bubbaloo’ jar in the year 2010 – 2011.
