Magazine Printer 2015: Silverpoint Press

This is the second PrintWeek India Award for Silverpoint Press, along with its win in the Cross Media category. This time, the print powerhouse clinches the Award with its innovative use of process, raw material and technology to create eye-popping magazine samples, which not only look good but also feel good. All the samples were printed on a Heidelberg LX five-colour plus online coater.

 

The Taj Magazine for Indian Hotels has a print run of 24,000 copies, featuring gold-foil stamping and satin aqueous. The cover was 350gsm Invercote matt art card and the inside pages are 130gsm Leykam matt art paper.

 

The Kyoorius Magazine 25, with a print run of 2,000 copies, was printed with standard density to add high quality depth to the entire job, to achieve the overall impact.

 

The Meet the City magazine for Panchshil, with a print run of 4,000 copies, featured matt lamination, silver-foil stamping and satin aqueous, printed on 130gsm Royal matt art paper. Apart from gatefold with matt lamination and silver-foiling, the copies also had section sewing and perfect binding.

 

Similar treatment was given to the last sample, the Marg Magazine, which had a print run of 1,800 copies.

 

All the print jobs were fired in an Agfa CTP system using Apogee workflow.
