Macrobond displays its thermal lamination machine

Coimbatore-based Macrobond, the manufacturers of mini-offset printing and thermal laminating machines demonstrated the double side lamination machine at PrintExpo 2014.

The machine is targeted at digital photography segment. Speaking to PrintWeek India, John Bunyan, marketing manager at Macrobond said,"Chennai has quite a reasonable amount of digital firms and photobook shops and each of these players require a lamination machine for their digital prints. They are out prime targets." Macrobond has 260 installations of its thermal lamination machines overall since its launch at Printpack 2012.

Major customers of Macrobond's thermal lamination machines are Glo Colour labs in Coimbatore, Mazda Imaging, SRK Colour lab to name a few.

Macrobond's thermal lamination machine offers lamination on both sides in a single pass. The unique feature of the machine according to Bunyan is the machine's automatic temperature and pressure control which can be monitored through the high end PLC system in place. Macrobond where the first one's in India to introduce such a feature.

According to Bunyan the show was not expected as it was supposed to be as compared to the previous year. "We didn't have any new customers for enquiries at the show but we did see some of our existing customers placing order for a second thermal lamination machine," said Bunyan.
