New look "Photo Fair" in Mumbai

The 19th edition of Consumer Electronic Imaging Fair, which was previously known as Photofair will be held at Mumbai’s Bombay Exhibition Centre on 9-12 January 2014.

The All India Photographic Trade and Industry Association’s Consumer Electronic Imaging Fair 2014, which is touted to be the third largest consumer electronic imaging fair in the world has been conceptualised to encourage and promote research in manufacturing of photographic materials.

The fair will cover a total area of 20,000 sq/mt, with a view to provide a broader platform, to meet the increasing demand of exhibitors of consumer imaging products.

The trade exhibition will showcase the latest innovations in digital print and sees key players in the segment. The big picture according to Alok Bharadwaj of Canon India is the Rs 3,072 crore commercial photo printing market which the graphics art industry is aiming to transform.

To promote this business and to impact a larger ecosystem, many players like Glo, SRK and Mazda are organising special sessions for wedding photographers, wedding planners and event agencies in India.

Bharadwaj said, "The Indian wedding industry is valued at Rs 10 lakh crore ($182 billion) and the wedding photography market is estimated to be around Rs 1,800 crore." Photo fair will be targetting this segment.

The Fair will gather together comprehensively all service providers involved with this Consumer Electronic Imaging Industry and a footfall over 1,00,000 visitors is expected from across the globe.
