Kolkata: Wan-Ifra India’s new destination for annual conference

This year Wan-Ifra India annual conference will be held at a new location. The conference is scheduled for 21 to 22 September 2016 in Kolkata.

“The support for Kolkata, as the venue for Wan-Ifra India 2016 is overwhelming,” said Magdoom Mohamed, managing director at Wan-Ifra South Asia. “We are working to make this a memorable event for the news publishing industry in South Asia region.”
 
K Balaji, chairman of Wan-Ifra South Asia Committee, said, “India is the growth centre for media business where both print and digital businesses are thriving. Kolkata holds a pre-eminent position in the development of newspaper publishing and printing in India and I am sure that the city will play the perfect host to Wan-Ifra India.”
 
One of the highlights of the event will be the World Printers Forum Conference, the meeting of the newspaper print community. In addition to this, there are two parallel summits on Newsroom and Cross Media Advertising, to discuss the trends and practices, impacting the media business.

The conference is the annual meeting point of news publishers in South Asia region and attracts more than 350 delegates from around the globe. The conference will include three parallel pre-conference workshops on 20 September 2016 on printing, newsroom and advertising topics.
 
The event, which is attended by newspaper experts and industry leader will be sharing their experience and know-how at one platform.
