“Like any industry, the printing industry is also trying to cut unnecessary costs by eliminating mistakes and errors. For this everybody should follow proper planning and estimation. Being a responsible association, it is our duty to update our members with latest technologies in the industry for their benefit,” said Rajesh G, honorary secretary of KMPA.

Pradeep Kulakadda conducted the seminar on estimation where he had pointed out that maximum errors in a print organisation take place at the pre-press stage.

“Based on the feedback from the members who attended the estimation seminar we followed it up with a seminar for the design staff of our member organisations with the aim to help them get the artwork print-ready as effectively as possible,” added Rajesh.

Around 25 participants attended the daylong seminar cum training programme on pre-press. There were four sessions in total with the first session completely dedicated to ‘understanding the present problems of designers while converting the files to PDF’. The second session was to find the remedies to solve the problems addressed and the third session was a constructive one in which the participants created the certificate (file) for the programme based on the lessons they learnt.

“The feedback received from the participants was encouraging. Everybody appreciated the quality of the training programme and requested KMPA to conduct these types of programmes on regular basis,” said Rajesh.

Meanwhile, in a philanthropic effort, KMPA handed over Rs 75,000 to an employee of its member organisation for the liver transplant.
