Jak Printers operates with a slogan "We make a difference" which is key to all their activities. It won two PrintWeek India Award 'prisms' for Innovative and Book Printer of the Year 2010.

In 2009, it had won the Award for Social Stationery Printer of the Year. India's nightingale, Lata Mangeshkar, recently lauded a book printed by Jak Printers.

Khushru Patel, owner, is unwilling to accept mediocrity and wants Jak to be the number one print company in its sector.

What you felt when you bagged the PWI Award?
Firstly, I missed my complete team. Secondly I missed my complete team... once again.

One most valuable work lesson that you follow at your press?

Do it right the first time ONLY.

One thing you always do when you plan for a new print job?
Pre-press department plays a role in this, the better the pre-press department... make ready will be the thing of the past.

Take the onus of the irritation on you and comfort the customer.

One good thing about the new generation in the print industry?

They have so many gadgets to play with...they can create the impossible...easily.

One best practise that should be made compulsory in the Indian print industry?

Honesty.

Giving indepth knowledge of the product to the customer.

Ownership.

Technology and teamwork, enabling total customer satisfaction which leads to growth.

Teaching people how to manage life better.

Lift your product to a higher level, the customer will be ready to pay any price.

Get the company running without me, actually they deliver better!
