The Indigo presses were inaugurated on 13 July in the presence of Sushil Kumar CP, the managing partner, Indot Color World and representatives from HP India.

Established in 2003, Indot Color World has been offering a variety of imaging and print based offerings, and specialises in big colour graphics images for exhibitions, retail displays, meetings and presentations. With the installation of the HP Indigo Digital Offset Press 5500, Indot Color World aims to deliver customers’ high-end photographic printing needs; especially the photobook market.

“We are excited. It gives us an edge over the competition in the photo-printing business,” said Kumar.

“With the installation of HP Indigo Press 5500 users can now expect a much better printing solution with unmatched photographic quality, high-speed, offset quality print output that lasts long,” he further added.

“The wedding industry in India is worth Rs 1.25-lakh crore and it continues to grow bigger and fatter. If looked at the annual growth, this specific industry weighs more by 25% each year. Destination weddings and theme wedding continue to increase as it allows the wedding to be unique and the opulence of the wedding affair, thus increase the photo opportunities. We congratulate Indot Color World for choosing HP Indigo digital press technology,” said A Appadurai, country manager – HP Indigo and Inkjet Solutions.

Indot Colour, which has four branches spread across Kerala, is currently gearing to set up a new branch at Kozhikode. Of its four branches, two are equipped with a raft of digital photo and digital photo-book making machines.

On his decision to tap the digital photobook market, Kumar said, “These photo albums are one-third the weight of traditional albums and can be customised into miniature photo books to scatter on your coffee table. Another interesting highlight of these albums is that they are waterproof, scratchproof and non-tearable, which increases the opportunity for frequent handling and viewing.”

Indot has been catering to clients not only in Kerala but also in far off states such as Rajasthan and Orissa through its web-to-print services.

“Web-to-print services offer great opportunity for us as well as our clients to order prints without the need of personally visiting the branch. The age of Halide-prints is almost over. In fact, with the pace digital printing technology and web-to print is being accepted in these parts, I am sure that in next two years 80% of the printers in south will move towards digital,” he concluded.
