ITC PSPD continues sponsorship to PWI Green Printing Award

The Green Printing Company of the Year Award was introduced last year, primarily to promote improvements in print companies environmental performance. 

 

“The PrintWeek Awards is a forum where the cream of India’s print industry assembles and shares best practices. The creation of this new category has opened up one more channel of engagement with environmentally conscious printers,” said SN Venkataraman, vice president for marketing at ITC PSPD.

 

The packaging and graphic paperboards specialist and a key player in specialty papers in India, ITC manufactures a wide range of products and solutions to meet a diverse cross-section of packaging and communication needs. Last year, ITC PSPD launched Opus Card and Omega Barr and this year the company has launched Vivaa Card and Vivaa Liner.

 

While the Vivaa Card is compatible with both offset and gravure printing operation and has been customised to produce an embossing effect, the Vivaa Liner replaces recycled boards as a white-top liner for corrugated boxes. The product, according to ITC PSPD, boasts of a guaranteed RCT (ring crush test) and burst factor.

He added, even before eco-friendliness became a buzz word, it had become the way of doing business for us. “Measuring the impact on the environment to mitigate the impact by investing in technologies is now part of our DNA and has been endorsed by various certifying agencies like WWF, FSC, PREPS, CII-Greenco etc.”
