Ipex Visitor Speak: Khushru Patel, Jak Printers

18 Sep 2011 | By Samir Lukka

One word that describes Ipex South Asia?
Convenient.

A print job application you saw at the show, which you can’t get out of your head?
Digital foiling applications.

Which Indian stall did you like the best?
Suba Solutions.

If we gave you a blank cheque what would you buy at Ipex South Asia?
Nothing from the print industry! I have to enjoy that money... It will be one from the Mercedes AMG series.

If you could be born either a great print technocrat + expert or a very rich print CEO, which one would you choose?
A print expert. CEO post is temporary, knowledge will always remain – and is permanent.

What is the most interesting post-press operation you saw at the Ipex South Asia show?
The PUR machine at the PaperBind stall. Such machines are the need of the hour in India.

CMYK or RGB?
CMYK. I get to earn for one more colour!

You have to produce a print job on the show ground. Choose a technology.
Digital.

What’s your idea of a perfect print trade show?
It has to be huge and the Indian manufacturers should have adequate representation. Lower stall costs will give them a boost to participate.

Your favourite print personality?
My partner, AM Forbes.

The next print trade show you are looking forward to?
The Chinese trade show. The Chinese will display small and cost effective machines.

If you were the last printer left on earth, what would you do?
Wish to be born as Gutenberg and show people that I re-invented printing.
