International PackTech to be held in December 2016

The International PackTech India will return to the Bombay Convention and Exhibition Centre in Goregaon East, Mumbai, for the ninth edition of International Exhibition for Processing, Packaging and Printing. The show is scheduled to be held from 15-17 December 2016.

After setting a remarkable presence of 10,250 visitors, which was a 37% increase over the previous edition in 2012, the organisers, Messe Düsseldorf and its Indian subsidiary as well as Messe München International and its subsidiary MMI India, hope to use the next edition to further enhance its foothold in the Indian tradeshow arena.
 
"We have achieved a completely new level with this result," said Reinhard Pfeiffer, deputy chief executive officer of Messe München International. "Following three joint events, drink technology India and International PackTech India have finally become established in the India market.”
 
Last year, IP and DTI show had a total of 230 exhibitors for the three day exhibition. For the first time food processing segment was part of the show and after a good response from the visitors, the organisers are planning for the 2016 edition of the show which will be held at same venue.
 
The exhibition represents, a conglomerate of food processing, liquid food beverage and packaging technology, and showcases the solution for international packaging, and packaging in printing and processing, and also food and beverage segment.
 
According to the industry reports, the packaged food business is the fifth largest division in India and the Indian packaging food industry is worth 39.7 billion USD and is expected to reach 65.41 billion USD by 2020. With a sales volume of 30 million tonnes in 2013, India is one of the largest markets for packaged food in the world and second largest in Asia. More than 50% of the population are younger lot, within the age group of 25 years, in Indian food and drinks industry.
 
According to Werner M Dornscheidt, chief executive officer, Messe Dusseldorf said, “The companies met well-prepared customers who were ready to invest during the exhibition. The visitors travelled long distance to experience new technologies of international and domestic suppliers. The positive result of the trade fair, IP and DTI, makes us optimistic for future.”
 
The exhibitors also shared their experience. Dilip Bhargava, managing director at Gebo Cremex, said, “It has been a great experience, participating in International PackTech India. A lot of high net worth clients, who are our target audience have interacted with us and we hope at least 45% of them will turn out to be our business.”
 
Yogesh Babbar, general manager, SSP Packaging Industries, said, “The International PackTech India is a podium to meet, the manufacturers, exporters, and importers. It is a platform to introduce new products and advancement.”
