Samant is representing Mumbai-based Hyden Packaging and Faridabad-based Multitec, both the companies present at the show. He will now handle sales and marketing for the two Indian equipment manufacturers.

Speaking to PrintWeek India, Samant, said, “During the one year of retirement, I was able to put my thoughts together and decided my future plans. The passion for the industry, stirred me to return. I feel, I still have a lot to contribute. I am now assisting Hyden Packaging to diversify from dry offset segment into the label segment.”

Hyden Packaging is a Mumbai-based manufacturer of dry offset machines for disposable plastic cups. Samant's brain-child, the newly developed slitter-rewinder cum inspection system for label converters, is manufactured by Hyden.

Samant's consultancy firm will also market Multitec’s label printing machines. “I visited the Multitec’s plant and reviewed their production process before agreeing to take the responsibility. The machines deploy best in class components and the company offers excellent service support,” said Samant.

Samant, having represented the Italian manufacturer, Gidue, for years, now prefers to sell Indian machines. “With the foreign manufacturers I have observed that it is a chicken and egg story; of whether to invest in technical service team first or to develop the market.  Both Hyden and Multitec are in a position to offer first-class after-sales service and it’s an USP.”
