IndiaCorr Expo begins in Noida

India Corr Expo-Sino Corrugated 2015, the show dedicated to the corrugated industry, organised by Reed Manch Exhibitions, India and Shanghai, was inaugurated at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida on 6 October 2015. The event is on until 8 October 2015.

During the inauguration, Kirit Modi, president, ICCMA, said, “In the current edition of the exhibition, we saw 25% increase in space booked by the exhibitors. Around 5,000 visitors are expected to visit the exhibition with more than 300 registered delegates, More than 250 exhibitors from India, China, Taiwan, Germany, Italy, Canada, USA and Switzerland are participating in the exhibition.”
 
The Indian Corrugated Case Manufacturers Association (ICCMA) is also organising a two-day conference parallel to the exhibition. The theme of the conference is ‘A SWOT (strength weakness, opportunity, threat) perspective on the Indian corrugated packaging industry.’
 
Jaideep Wadhwa, chief executive officer, Max Speciality Films, said during his keynote speech, “It is difficult to make money in this industry, but it is not impossible. If there is anything wrong with the company, it starts from leadership.”
 
Manish Patel of ICCMA talked about the structure of the corrugated industry and came up with the figures that show that the paper converted by corrugated box industry is about 4.5 million metric tonnes in 2014-15, that is 40% of total paper output in India.
 
Corrugated board and boxes production are approximately 6.5 billion square metres in 2014-15. About 15,000 units, including organised and unorganised sector, the approximate value of output is Rs 18,500 crore.
