India makes an impact at Cannes

L&K Saatchi & Saatchi bagged a Gold Lion in what is new category, the three-year-old Glass Lions, at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Also, India had a bullish run at the Cannes Lions as shortlists for Cyber, Glass, Outdoor, PR, Promo & Activation, Print & Publishing.

Many of the top agencies in India are in contention.

Having said that, in print and publishing, Lions India has nine shortlists in this category. Seven of these belonged to McCann. All of these are for the World for All campaign. DDB Mudra Group Mumbai and The Social Street also had one each. DDB's shortlist is for the entry 'Indian Mythology' for Penguin Random House. The Social Street's 'Farewell-Father' for Antim Yatra Funeral Services was also in contention. 

Meanwhile in outdoors, leading the list was India's showing in Outdoor where the country got 13 shortlists. McCann Worldgroup was leading the pack with five of the shortlists for the World For All (Animal Care and Adoptions). This was followed by Ogilvy & Mather, Mumbai with four shortlists on KFC ‘add hope', Savlon Healthy Hands Chalk Sticks and Pernod Ricard's 100 Pipers, and Rediffusion, Y&R with three shortlists for Eveready Waterproof Torches. Leo Burnett's 'Road that honk' have a shortlist in this category too.

Meanwhile - the shortlists for Design Lions were just announced, and 10 Indian entries have got qualified. Leo Burnett India’s Roads That Honk for HPCL has got three shortlists in this category. McCann Worldgroup India has a shortlist for World For All.

TBWA\India has opened its account and got has a shortlist for Zoobar’s Pet Friendly Bar – Beagle. Rediffusion Y&R Mumbai has picked a shortlist for Nakshatra Welfare Society’s artwork.

O&M’s Savlon Health Hands Chalk Sticks campaign has got a shortlist. The agency also added another shortlist to its kitty for Pernod Ricard’s campaign. Taproot Dentsu has bagged a shortlist for its Adidas Odds campaign. Famous Innovations has got its first shortlist this year, for its Caratlane campaign.
