India International Sign Show 2011 for the signage industry

Tanvi Parekh speaks to wide-format specialists who showcased their products at the Mumbai show.

Caldron Graphics

New Delhi-based Caldron Graphics showcased its CrystalJet solvent printer CJ 6000 and CJ 4000 at the show. The CJ 6000 series plug and play model is available with an option for six-colours. "The wide-format printer displayed at the show is an upgraded model. The look of the printer is now more robust and the head increased to eight," said Arif Kamal, business development manager at Caldron. Caldron has 30 CJ 6000 installations in India, of which ten are in Mumbai. Caldron has two installs of CJ 4000 in Maharashtra.



Negi Sign Systems & Supplies
Mumbai-based Negi, a player in the wide-format industry for the last 15 years, represents Mutoh in India. On display were Mutoh’s Osprey, the ValueJet and sublimation transfer printers and the Chinese made Polariz 3300 printers. Of the 1500 plus installations across the country, 100 printers have been installed in Mumbai alone. Ajeet Mohanty, zonal manager, sales and marketing, at Negi said: "The Mutoh series, a Japanese technology machine has 70-80 in-built boards enabling a continuous run."


Jetstar Innovation

Jetstar Innovations, a Surat-based firm launched it’s Jetstar series of fabric printers. A pioneer in the manufacturing of textile printers in India, Jetstar fabric printer is valued at less than one-third of the cost of other imported brands. "We are sure about the demand for the machine. Digital printing has now entered the textile market and is here to stay," said Mayank Misra, director at Jetstar. The two year old Jetstar also manufactures screen and thermal flatbed engravers besides represent-ing Lecai printers in India.



Siare Technologies
Bengaluru-based Siare Technologies is one of the leading distributor for sign equipments, consumables and technical service provider for the graphic communication industry in India. At the show, Siare showcased Wit-color Ultra 2000 wide-format printer and Oce’s Arizona 350 GT UV flatbed printer, which comes with Oce varioDot technology. Siare has close to 300 installations of the Witcolors in Mumbai. Besides Witcolor and Oce, Siare also manufactures thermal transfer machine for visual merchan-dising/ T- shirt transfers.
