The four-day workshop will see 25 industry professionals undergo training to implement the G7 methodology for colour standardisation, colour management and best practices, in the printing plant including hands-on in-plant training and certification of participants.

The workshop will be supervised by G7 expert Steve Smiley, a 35-year print industry veteran who is also active in the development of global packaging standards as the current chair of Print Properties US, co-chair CGATS, chair of GWG Colour Committee, ICC member, and ISO TC130 US flexo expert.

G7 is Idealliance's set of specifications for achieving gray balance and is said to achieve visual similarity across all print processes. According to Idealliance India, when you focus on neutrals and gray balance, you indeed get optimum tonal reproduction and when you get neutrals right, which G7 assists you in doing, the dynamic range is better, contrast is better and consistency throughout the print run occurs and can be maintained.

According to the organisers, the workshop is an ideal training course for digital press operators, offset press operators, pressroom supervisors, pre-press supervisors and technicians, quality assurance managers, and printing equipment suppliers.

The programme in Mumbai is supported by Epson, Techkon and Chromix.
