Hyderabad-based Cutting Edge installs a Kodak NexPress

Cutting Edge Photo Print (CEPP), a Hyderabad-based photo lab has kicked off operations with a Kodak NexPress 3300 SX press at the inauguration ceremony on 7 June.

D Sridhar Babu, the honorary minister for Civil Supplies and Legislative Affairs, state government of Andhra Pradesh was the guest of honour for the ceremony. Bhalchandra Nikumb and Ramani Viswanathan of Kodak India were the other dignitaries at the opening ceremony.

An open house was organised after the inauguration which showcased wedding albums with finishing alternatives: lamination, binding, UV coating etc. Amateur albums, marketing collaterals, invitation cards which were printed on the Kodak NexPress were displayed.
 
The open house was attended by more than 500 photographers and photo lab owners from across Hyderabad, rest of Andhra Pradesh, eastern Maharashtra and northern Karnataka.
 
Naresh Singh, director at Cutting Edge Photo Print, said, “The NexPress will not only enable us in our endeavour to reach out to photographers and photo labs across the three states and provide them with innovative, high quality photo prints and wedding albums for their end consumers, but also help provide print solutions in the commercial space.”
 
The Kodak NexPress SX with fifth imaging unit solutions offers unique in-line dimensional coating, gloss and spot colour, in-line watermarking, and a range of applications and options. It can be field upgraded to use up to a 26 inch sheet enabling the printers to print six-page brochures or three-up letters. It has a print capacity of 2 million A3 size prints per month.

In an independent study by SpencerLab, "The Kodak NexPress achieved an overall highest rating in print quality, demonstrating the best all-round performance across the majority of attributes."

There are 15 NexPress installed in India, as confirmed by a Kodak official.
