The Indian newspaper made a mark in the Best in Print category; while Mint made an impression with its design.

According to a Wan-Ifra spokesperson, "The awards have become the most prestigious recognition of outstanding work in the fields of printing quality, design, infographics, photography, editorial content, newspaper marketing and community service among media houses in Asian Pacific, South Asian and Middle East, were presented to 50 companies, publications and individuals.

The ceremony was held at Publish Asian 2013 and WAN-IFRA Expo India which gathered over 600 media executives from 25 countries for the conference.

While the conference was well-attended, the Wan-Ifra exhibitor saw fewer number of stalls; and visitors. Many experts attributed this to the "wait and watch" policy in the newspaper publishing industry; as well as the slowdown in the economy and "the rupee factor".

The next edition of Wan-Ifra is in Berlin from 7 to 9 October.
