HP showcases Designjet series at Ecobuild

At the Ecobuild exhibition held from 16-18 April, 2013 at Mumbai’s Bombay Exhibition Centre in Goregaon, HP India showcased its Designjet series of large-format printers. HP’s target audience were players in the architectural, construction, engineering (ACE); and mechanical design industries.

Speaking to PrintWeek India during Ecobuild, Mahesh Soni, country manager for design at HP India, said, "When we look at the market perspective 80% of technical market share world over and the ACE segment has huge print requirement as real estate is a booming sector. We are demonstrating large format printers which are core requirement for the ACE industry as the architectural industry operates around the prints of designs that they create.”

The machines on display were HP Designjet T2300 eMFP, T520, T120 and T1700. The HP Designjet series offers web-ready printing solution with HP ePrint and Share technology which enables easy print, scan and share the drawings with your partners and clients. These ePrinters are available in sizes of 24-, 36- and 44-inch, and can throughput 70 A1 prints in an hour in 2400dpi resolution.

According to Soni, typical application of the machines includes black and white line drawings, maps and business graphics among others and the machine can convert up to 445 square feet area in one hour and uses HP’s thermal inkjet technology.

Highlighting the USP of the Designjet series, Soni said, “The main feature of the Designjet series is the cloud enabled functionality, which makes it easy to access and print large-format documents using an iOS or Android tablet or smartphone, a laptop or ePrinter touch screen.”

Soni concluded by saying, “HP is bringing in all kinds of innovation for this industry and offers better returns for investment attached with HP solution for the entire customer segment linked with architectural segment.”
