At a special launch event for the media hosted at Mumbai’s Taj Palace today, HP’s Alon Bar-Shany, Roy Eitan, A Appadurai and Mazda’s Phiroze Havaldar presented prints delivered by the HP Indigo 10000 installed at Mazda Imaging.

Mazda Imaging will hold an open house tomorrow, where it will showcase the seven-colour HP Indigo 10000 digital press at its premises in Byculla in Mumbai. Mazda also operates its units in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

HP Indigo 10000 is the first offset-quality digital press in a larger format suitable for printing nearly any size commercial offset job. The Indigo 10000 prints at 3,450 sph in its standard production mode. HP’s unique Enhanced Productivity Mode (EPM) provides a 33% faster throughput of 4,600 colour sheets per hour, which allows customers to deliver more sheets per at lower unit cost. This means increased profitability and faster job delivery times.

HP claims that the press can deliver monthly production volumes of up to 2-million sheets and supports media in the 75-459 micron thickness range on a broad variety of HP certified media.

Though the HP Indigo 10000 is compatible with standard finishing equipment used for offset operations, two post-press equipment manufacturers, Horizon and MBO have either developed or integrated its folders with the HP 10000 for in-line or near-line operations.
