Klaus Neilsen, managing director, Heidelberg India, said, “We feel very proud that Drupa was initiated by Heidelberg’s management board member Hubert Sternberg in 1951. Since the beginning of Drupa, Heidelberg has been one of the largest exhibitors and will also this time around have the largest stall consisting of hall number one.”

Neilsen added, “We are expecting solid presence of visitors. During the last Drupa, Indian visitors were the second largest group of foreign visitors and I would not be surprised if we were to become the largest in the 2012 edition.

Meanwhile the big news from the German giant is, Heidelberg has partnered with Landa Corporation to collaborate on the development of Nanographic Printing presses to expand digital offerings for mainstream printing, including short-to-medium runs, variable data and quick turnaround printing.

Another highlight in hall one is, Touchcode which is an invisible electronic data tag developed by Printechnologics, and run on the Heidelberg CX 102 or XL 105.

The demo cards with Printechnologics’ embedded Touchcode consists of an iPad app which shows different applications for Touchcode. There is a web app which demonstrates how Touchcode can be used within a website. To access the digital content, the visitor simply needs to open the app or website and place the demo card with the embedded Touchcode on the smartphone’s or tablet’s display.
