The company has used its proprietary polymer technology, to produce the adhesive, aimed at helping the beverage producers remove the PSA labels during the label wash-off process of returnable bottles.

Explaining the process to the PrintWeek India team, Jude Liddle, EIMEA marketing manager for converting solutions, said, “The Fulltak SE 8301 connects ideal coating, drying and conversion performance for the label stock producer and a clean label removal without leaving any residue on the bottle. This means  minimising contamination of wash water.”

The intricately designed PSA labels, the company claims, can be efficiently applied to the glass bottles. Under typical conditions, Fulltak SE 8301 delivers two hours ice-water resistance. “Additionally, it helps easy processing of the returned bottles through the wash-off cycles, because the adhesive remains coated on the label.”

Stuart Jenkinson, business director at HB Fuller, said, “We continue to match product and process innovations to our customers’ critical needs. Fulltak SA 3801 enables label producers to efficiently manufacture high performance PSA labels that deliver the value-added benefit of clean label wash-off from returnable bottles.”

The other development at HB Fuller, Liddle said, was the opening of its Luneburg Adhesive Academy in Germany, which will help its customers, including those from the Indian continent, to respond more quickly and effectively to market trends, industry challenges and opportunities.
