Gujarat-based Patwa & Sons reinforces client demand with a new Ryobi

"We were always interested in exploring new avenues of client development and we decided that one way to do so was to invest in new machinery," said Patwa. He said the Ryobi 755 was installed two months ago.

The press prints at 15,000-sheets-per-hour (sph), is complete with CIP4 and an inline closed chamber coating system. It is also fitted with anilox rollers and a CCD plate punch.

The firm, which sends out lots of colour work in both commercial and packaging print, is pretty pleased with the performance of the press even though it's only in its third month.

"There's already been an increase in turnover and also the ease of production and capacity. We expect to achieve the market goal of printing and packaging materials," said Patwa.

Gujarat is on the cusp of an economic rejuvenation with industrial activity entering its land. Patwa & Sons which has post-press facilities in-house presently outsources pre-press. "But it may not be for long," said Patwa.

"Gujarat's economy is soaring and the share of printing industry would certainly double. We do not wish to be left behind and hence our next investment will be in a CTP, which would bring all print facilities in-house."

The firm was established by Patwa's father late Atul and uncle late Gaurang in 1974. The firm operates two shifts of 12 hours each and employs 28 persons.
