Forecast for 2017: Arnab Maiti

At Drupa, Esko marked its presence around the theme 'Packaging Simplified'. It brought to the table new upgrades to all its software in the form of Suite 16; a more simple and versatile Kongsberg cutting table platform called X series; a new flexo CTP CDI Crystal; and a new UV LED exposure XPS Crystal.

Forecast for 2017
Esko booked large number of orders during December 2016. So we do not think our customers are holding back any investment. After all, India is still one of the fastest growing economy with ambitious young minds.

New features
This year Esko has added lot of features in automation engine. This acts as the brain of a pre-press with high level of automation and extremely sophisticated quality control, specifically for packaging. It also comes with an extensive business system integration capabilities and is highly scalable.

Utility to a print operation
Esko helps its customers to take control of their packaging operations – they can have shorter approval cycles which means quicker turnaround time and more jobs to feed their presses.

Esko in India
In 2016 we have crossed the 100th Kongsberg table milestone in India. In terms of active software users the number is huge and includes both convertors as well as brand owners.

Response to changes
Technology has given a choice to the consumers, which means they are looking for more options. There are large number of SKUs for packaging industry.
