Esko to be honoured during Intertech awards

Esko's Full HD Flexo platemaking system and Esko Equinox will be the recipient of the 2014 Printing Industries of America (PIA) Intertech technology awards.

Esko will be honored during the upcoming 2014 Intertech premier print awards gala on September 28 in Chicago, Illinois.Intertech technology awards, sponsored by PIA has been honoring the development of technologies predicted to have a major impact on the graphic arts and related industries. 

Esko Full HD Flexo is a platemaking system for superior flexo printing for all packaging applications. It utilises a patented, fully digitally controlled platemaking system combining high-resolution 4000ppi imaging with a unique inline UV main exposure unit. "The judges noted that the inline UV technology is more controllable,” said Mark Bohan, vice president, technology and research, PIA.

Esko Equinox Expanded Colour Gamut (ECG) technology is Esko’s technology for converting packaging graphics from CMYK and spot colour to seven-color process. “The judges liked the smart filters, the math and colour algorithms associated with Esko Equinox,” said Bohan. 

Carsten Knudsen, president and CEO, Esko said, “We are very honored to receive two awards from PIA this year." These are the sixth and seventh Intertech awards for Esko solutions over the past ten years. Other recipients include Esko WebCenter in 2006, Esko DeskPack 3-dX in 2007, Esko Neo in 2008, Esko Studio Toolkit for shrink sleeves in 2011 and i-cut suite in 2012.
