Digital Printer 2015: Chanakya Mudrak

Quality Awards

07 Oct 2015 | By PrintWeek India

New Delhi’s digital print specialist Chanakya Mudrak joins the elite rank of previous winners of the Award, Manipal Technologies, Thomson Press, three-time winners Avantika, and Silverpoint Press, the last winner. In the four samples that Chanakya sent for evaluation, there is no doubt that the company strives for excellence. The Bombay Blue Menu for Bombay Blue in that sense is unique.

“We did this job with the help of XRCVC and Radio Mirchi and it is supposed to be the world’s first attempt to create a menu, which can be accessed by all,” said the company. The piece was printed on the HP Indigo with UV embossing done digitally, plus audio labeling. Only 12 pieces were produced.

The second entry, EY Invitation, was created for EY and had a run length of 2,000 cards and five boxes. The golden metallic colour and embossed effects were achieved through complete digital process. No dies, block or stamping was used. For this, the HP Indigo press was put to use.
Similar treatments were given to the other two samples – Bain & Co Calendar 2015 for Bain & Co and Moet’s Bar Menu for Moet’s. The run lengths were 100 and 10 respectively.

Established in 1985, Chanakya Mudrak is a family owned printing company. It undertakes commercial digital printing works, including visiting cards, books, calendars, loyalty cards and many others on the entire range of printable media. A HP Indigo 3500 digital production press in its pressroom handles almost all of the printing jobs and a Scodix S74 handles digital embossing and embellishment.
