Tushar Dhote of Dhote Offset said: “Dhote Offset has transformed its business model from a conventional book printer to a complete supply chain provider, including the short run on offset with 40-45 jobs per day which raised our usage of consumables. At 30 plates per hour Cron CtCP will not only increase our output speed but also lead to a savings of up to Rs 120 per square metre.”

Cron replaces Dhote Offset’s thermal platesetter from Screen which the firm had booked at Drupa 2004.

The firm has an internal consumption of 5,000 plates on a monthly basis and a yearly consumption of 25,000 sq/mts. “Cron matches the quality requirement for the print applications that we provide."

Combined with Prinergy workflow it provided a perfect dot of 1-99% at 175lpi (lines per inch) which is our maximum requirement,” added Dhote. “The new installation has also increased our capacity to 7,000 plates per month.”

Mumbai-based Nippon Color was the supplier for Cron CtCP, Prinergy workflow and Raptor processor.

In Feb 2011, Dhote Offset had opted from its third Xerox4127, its third digital press which was also supplied by Nippon Color. The firm’s supply chain service platform includes a digital book factory, full pre-press capabilities, an automated bindery, custom publishing, and fulfillment for clients.
