Delhi's Syndicate Binders finds digital mojo in a Ricoh 1357Ex

Syndicate Binders, a pioneer in print and publishing has installed a Ricoh black and white production printer model Pro 1357EX with EFI Fiery controller, to strengthen its short-run book production capacity.

Since its installation in February 2011, Syndicate has printed over half a million A3 sheets using the Ricoh digital printer.

"We are happy with the performance of the new Ricoh workhorse," said Rohit Rajpal, chief executive officer, Syndicate Binders. "We evaluated many presses and compared them too, before finalising on the Ricoh machine."

The Ricoh Pro 1357EX prints at speed of 135 sheets per minute and can print on 40 to 300 gsm paper and sizes upto 13x19.2 inch.

The machine offers a variety of finishing options like saddle-stitch unit, multi fold unit, punch and fold unit. "The finishing options take that extra work out of the manual work," said Rajpal.

"The Ricoh Pro 1357EX with the Fiery controller, offers versatility and excellent quality, which will help print providers for short-run print requirement of publishing segment," said Avijit Mukherjee, business head – production printing business group at Ricoh.

To cater to the publishing segment, Syndicate Binders has multi-colour offset presses from KBA, Heidelberg and Planeta. In the digital print arena, it also has a  Konica Minolta C6501 and a mono Xerox 4110.

The four decades old company also does stationery, commercial printing and photo album work. "All wedding card designers from Delhi are associated with us," said Rajpal, who is assisted by his family members – father Vinod Rajpal and wife Pooja Rajpal.

Syndicate has 60 employees on its muster at its 40,000 sq/ft site.
