Delhi and north bags six PrintWeek India 2012 Awards

Delhi and North sent a clear message to the printing fraternity at this year’s PrintWeek India Awards 2012 by winning six prisms. Last year, the region had won four awards.

Replika Press from Kundali and Avantika Printers from New Delhi successfully defended their last year’s win in the Post-Press Company of the Year and Digital Printer of the Year categories, respectively.

Replika inched ahead of competitors like International Print-o-Pac (Noida), Manipal Technologies (Manipal) and Parksons Graphics (Mumbai).

Avantika was bench-marked against Thomson Press (Faridabad), Silverpoint Press (Mumbai), PODS (Mumbai), Macromedia Digital Imaging (Hyderabad) and PrintStop (Mumbai).

While Post-Press category was dominated by the Kundali-based Replika, New Delhi-based Color Dots was adjudged the Pre-Press Company of the Year. The company headed by Tarun Chopra reported strong financial returns during the year, which earned them the laurel.

Noida-based Any Graphics and newspaper publisher Dainik Jagran collected the prisms in the Label Printer of the Year and Newspaper Printer of the Year category. Any Graphics, which was participating in the awards for the first time, shared the award with Hyderabad’s Pragati Pack. Dainik Jagran was so elated about winning the awards that its 37 editions carried the news on their front-page on 31 August

The sixth and the final award for the region was won by Gurgaon-based Perfact Color Digital Prints. Perfact shared the award with Hyderabad-based Hitech Print in the Personalisation, VDP and Transpromo Printer of the Year category. Its work for the Kurukshetra University with 14 different security features which earned it the top spot.
