VLF Solutions is a new venture by Alok Anand of Inside Graphics, a 13 year old pre-press bureau in Delhi. Inside Graphics houses a 28x40inch size 8-up thermal CTP system from Agfa.

Speaking to PrintWeek India, Anand said, “With print firms opting for inhouse plate making, it was necessary for pre-press houses like us to find a niche market. This is one of the reasons why we decided to install a VLF platesetter.”

Within two months of the installation, the company has produced 2000 sq/m of plates. According to Anand, this is a very large segment and the target is to achieve 200 plates per day in next three months and achieve a turnover of 80lakhs to one crore in this fiscal year.

Anand credits Kodak’s service support for its decision to opt for Kodak’s system.

Kodak’s Tanuj Alagh, said, “With Quantum, VLF Solutions will be able to cater to very large format printers of packaging, foam, calendars and tin, as well as 28x40inch commercial printers with excellent print quality.”

The platesetter produces 15 plates per hour with screening up to 450 lpi and optional 25- or 20-micron Kodak Staccato screening.
